Fleck 5600 Control Head. 10″x54″ Structural USA Tank. 4.4GPM Backwash Required. Acid water and protect your pipes and appliances with a simple to use backwashing acid neutralizer/pH filter. Complete system includes tank, riser tube, control head, media, and bypass valve. Acid water eats away at copper pipes and fittings, causing a blue/green staining that is seen around fixtures and wherever water runs. By neutralizing the acid, these stains are eliminated, meaning less cleaning of corroded fixtures! Acidic water eats away at copper plumbing, causing corrosion and leaks over time. This pH filer eliminates those problems, reducing maintenance costs associated with replacing leaking pipes! The Fleck 5600 control head automatically backwashes the pH filter, lifting and cleaning the media to prevent pressure loss and ensure maximum efficiency of the media. This tried and true controller from Fleck has been around for generations. Simplicity and function come together at an affordable price. The included stainless steel bypass valve allows for easy connection of the system and provides a quick and easy means to bypass the system and disconnect the system without needing to cut your plumbing. Allows for easy addition of media, simply unscrew the cap, add media and screw back on! Actual tank may vary from the one shown. A naturally occurring calcium carbonate media, Calcite dissolves into the water to bring low pH levels up to the neutral 7 range. One advantage of Calcite over other common medias is it’s self limiting properties, under normal conditions media only dissolves enough to reach a neutral (7.0) ph level. This means a more efficient system than those that raise the pH over 7 and use more media to do so. Calcite does add some hardness to the water. Depending on pH level and current hardness levels, a water softener may be recommended. For very low pH levels Calcite alone is not enough, so we add Corosex to the system at no additional charge. Please indicate your pH level when ordering so we can ensure your water gets the proper treatment. This system is capable of treating a maximum of 3.3 gallons per minute at maximum and requires a minimum of 4.4 gallons per minute for backwash. Additional information on flow rates can be found at right. We provide detailed installation instructions that allow most homeowners to install this system themselves. All it takes is some basic plumbing skills and some common knowledge! If you don’t feel confident installing it yourself most plumbers can install it in about 1-2 hours. The maximum rate (in gallons per minute) at which the media can effectively treat your water. Depending on water conditions actual service flow rates may be lower. Please note that most systems will allow a higher flow rate through them than the media can treat, so should your water demands exceed the systems capabilities some of the water will pass through untreated. Service flow rates are based on the manufacturers recommendations for maximum neutralization. Higher flow rates may be treated with lower pH change. The minimum rate (in gallons per minute) that needs to be available for proper backwashing of the system. This is not a constant rate, your water source just needs to be capable of supplying the shown rate for backwashing. Using a system with less than the recommended backwash rate may be possible, however, doing so will decrease media life and will negate the 30-day satisfaction guarantee. (The warranties on the tank and control head will remain unaffected). Typical Flow Rates (in GPM). 1.0 – 1.5. 0.8 – 3.0. 1.5 – 3.0. 2.0 – 5.0. 1.0 – 3.0. These are typical flow rates for the given fixtures, your actual flow rates may vary, and using water saving fixtures can reduce water requirements. 1.5 ft³ pH Filter System. 2 ft³ pH Filter System. 2.5 ft³ pH Filter System. 0.8125″ or 1.05″ O. 3/4″ or 1″ NPTF.
