Benefits and importance of a Backwash Cycle. As the filter operates in service mode, it collects particles in the filter bed, also since water’s nature is to follow the path of least resistance after some time it begins to cut channels through the medium. As channels or holes in the media bed forms, water begins to flow around rather than through the medium. This process is called “channeling” and it reduces the effectiveness of the filter considerably. The back is accomplished by send the water down the riser tube from which it enters the filter tank at the bottom. The force of the water is such that it actually lifts the media bed, swirling and tossing the granular medium. The water leaves the filter tank through the control valve, which routes it through the filter’s drain line. Particles that were in the bed are washed to drain. The backwash in an intense rinsing and tossing of the medium that lasts for several minutes. In a standard residential filter, a typical backwash lasts about ten minutes. After the backwash, initiate a “rinse” of the bed during which water flows downward through the medium, up through the distributor tube and out the drain. The purpose of this rinse is to rinse and settle bed and prepare it for return to service flow. A regular backwash schedule maintains the efficiency of the filter, as well as providing clear water. Whole House Sediment Water Filtration Filter Well/ City Manual Backwash Valve

Whole House Sediment Water Filtration Filter Well/ City Manual Backwash Valve

Whole House Sediment Water Filtration Filter Well/ City Manual Backwash Valve
Whole House Sediment Water Filtration Filter Well/ City – Manual Backwash Valve. Whole House Sediment Removal Filtration System. This systems includes the following. 1 FRP Mineral Tank 1054 (Blue or Black). 1 Manual Backwash Valve. 1.5 Cu Ft of Ag Plus. Distributor Tube, Lower & Upper Basket. Use as pre treatment. Filter-Ag Plus is a unique natural ore called Clinoptilolite that has many outstand advantages over common granular filter sands and multimedia used for suspended solids reduction. Viewed under a electron scanning microscope, the granules reveal a angular shape, rough surface and microporous void spaces as small as 3 microns. This creates a surface area over 100 times greater then silica sand. The angularity of the granules and the tapered internal pore spaces allow for reduction of dirt, silt and organic matter suspended in water by bridging, straining and adhesion. The rough surface and internal porosity provide a high surface area for efficient reduction of suspended matter. Utilizing deep bed filtration can typically reduce suspended solids down to 5 microns or less range. Filter – Ag Plus structure typically creates less pressure loss through the filter and allows deeper sediment penetration into the bed for higher sediment loading and long filter runs. The deep bed filtration capacity of Filter-Ag Plus prevents a rapid buildup of head loss and binding problems that are associated with typical sand filters. The longer filter run times reduce backwash frequency, which provides conservation of water. Deep bed filtration results in superior water quality and reduces load on downstream equipment, High sediment removal capacity results in longer filter runs. High Service flow rates result in lower equipment costs and smaller foot print. Ships only within US 48 Mainland (APO Address Excluded). Return items must be in Original Condition and sealed packaging where applicable. We do not accept used or installed items. Titan Water Pro is your “Clean Water Solutions”. Whole House Calcite pH Neutralizing Water System Manual Back Wash System 948

Whole House Calcite pH Neutralizing Water System Manual Back Wash System 948

Whole House Calcite pH Neutralizing Water System Manual Back Wash System 948
Whole House Calcite pH Neutralizing Filter. Manual BackWash Valve 1 Pipe Connection. Calcite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate media. One of the advantages of Calcite is its self-limiting property. When properly applied, it corrects pH only enough to reach a non-corrosive equilibrium. It does not over correct under normal conditions. Upon contact with calcite, acidic waters slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate to raise the pH which reduces potential leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in typical plumbing systems. Periodic backwashing will prevent packing, reclassify the bed and maintain high service rates. Depending on pH, water chemistry and service flow, the Calcite bed will have to be periodically replenished as the Calcite is depleted. As the Calcites calcium carbonate neutralizes the water, it will increase hardness and a softener may become necessary after the neutralizing filter. Raises pH of water to a non-corrosive equilibrium. Naturally occurring, inexpensive material. Low uniformity coefficient for maximum contact. Slower Reacting for controlled pH correction. This unit comes with the Following. 1 – 948 FRP Tank (Color Varies) – Includes Distributor Cap Upper & Lower & tube. Valve – 1 Pipe Connection. 1 – CU FT Calcite. 1 – Gravel Underbed. Manual Whole House Water Filtration Valve. 1″ In & 1′ Out & 1″ Drain. Works for Iron Filter System, Carbon GAC Filter System, Calcite Filter System, Birm Filter System or other systems requiring backwash & rinse cycle. Fits regular FRP/Mineral Tanks of 2 1/2 Tank Thread. Inexpensive replacement water filter valve which fits 2 1/2 Tank Thread such as Fleck/Clack/Autotrol/Watts. Manual Controls are simple, reliable and inexpensive. Perfect for medias that require infrequent back washing or locations that lack electrical power. It has very few moving parts and easy to use. When you need to backwash a filter, you put in into the backwash cycle for 10 minutes, followed by a rinse of 3 minutes, and then back into the service mode. That is all there is to it! Once a week schedule for back washing is generally sufficient. For a more economical product and ease of use, we recommend you get this rather then opting for unit that does not backwash. Benefits and Importance of a Backwash Cycle. As filter operates in service mode, it collects particles in the filter bed. Also, since water’s nature is to follow the path of least resistance, after a time it begins to cut channels through the medium. As channels or holes in the media bed forms, water begins to flow around rather through the medium. This process is called “channeling” and it reduces the effectiveness of the filter considerably. The backwash is accomplished by sending the water down the riser tube from which it enters the filter tank at the bottom. The force of the water is such that it actually lifts the media bed, swirling and tossing the granular medium. The water leaves the filter tank through the control valve, which routes it through the filter’s drain line. Particles that were in the bed are washed to drain. The backwash is an intense rinsing and tossing of the medium that lasts for several minutes. In a standard residential filter, a typical backwash lasts about ten minutes. After the backwash, initiate a “rinse” of the bed during which water flows downward through the medium, up through the distribution tube and out the drain. The purpose of this rinse is to rinse and settle the bed and prepare it for return to service flow. If sump is older than recommended, replace immediately. Date sump for reference and indicate replacement date. Personal checks may be held until cleared. The item “Whole House Water Filter System UDF Carbon Manual Backwash Valve POE 3 CU FT” is in sale since Monday, May 30, 2016.
